Forum Proper (Our version of...some random bar :P )

As you lay on a padded couch, being served wine, fruit, cheese, nuts, and small meats, music plays from the bards. A gentle warm breeze comes from the ocean, traveling through the sunny day to kiss across your skin.

In the sands adjacent to you, fighters practice with wooden swords and shields. Grunting at each others strength but smiling as each learns lessons from the others.

Gentlemen in white Togas with a crimson strip running down them, sit in a small shaded area of stone, covered from the bright light of the sun, talking about taxes and politics. These are senators.

Ladies dressed in proper plebian attire serve your desires. The head of the serving area a bigger gentleman, round and robust telling his tales of glory and honor.

A soldier stands with half spear, wearing the armor of the urban cohorts. His helmet has a black crest atop it traveling from front to back.

Merchants line the outer walls of the circle that made up the forum. Peddling their wears. A canvas roof shields you from the sun, but if need be can be opened for more sun.


This is the forum proper. Enjoy your stay.

While Admin did a great job of explain the forum, I would like to take a moment to explain it just a wee bit more


The Remian forum is a very busy place. While it is the main path to most anything in the city. It is common for the streets to be lined with merchants, have a stage for the mime's to be doing their thing, people talking, selling animals or slaves, and what have not. Lots of food are sold here and just about any item you really need. This will be where our "Market Place" is per say.


As for "Sitting down to eat"....

There is a bar persay, if you truely wish to call it that. "The Twin Barrels" is a two story Inn/Bar/multiplex. You can either order foods from the street side window and enjoy the outside, which is 98% recommended for general role play as it allows everyone to interact if they wish. Tables are outside, and for either fear of the owner of the urban cohorts, people leave these tables alone. When bad weather does find its way into remian, the stairs leading down to the storerooms of the bar, have been moved back to allow for a few 3, 16 man tables to be layed out so that people can eat in dryness. The top floor of the Twin Barrels offers average rooms at a good price for travelers. For people making a long term stay in Remia, it is usually proper, if a citizen, to live in the subura, or Plebian quarter, where homes are fairly cheap.


The Senate Complex-

This building, even to the most blasphemic being is sacred. Remia runs from these fulcrum point. Here the laws are made, the Tribunes of the people converse and Honorable consuls take seat. Since Remia has become a dictatorship, with an emperor, there is no longer consuls, so only one chair sits in he senate.



For anyone whom really would like to get a feel for Remia, and her city. Watch Episodes of the HBO series: ROME. it is truely accurate and amazing, and will give you an idea how life went and quit the few aspects of Remia have come from it.
