[Organization] Legions of Remia pt 1

LEGIONS FOR REMIA RPG



Any player at any time may join the Legion of Remia. You income will be deducted to that of a soldier while you are performing yoru duties, and will resume when you return home.

Structre-

Unit = Made up of = Number of persons

Contubernium = 8 men = 8 men total
Century = 10 contubernia = 80 men total
Cohort = 6 Centuries = 480 men total
Legion= 10 Cohorts = 4,800 total



Ranks (Lowest to highest)


Recruit- New body to the unit fresh from basic training

Auxilia- A member no longer considered a recruit.

Legionaire- A fighting member of the Legion. Only a remian citizen may be a one.

Optio- Assistant to a centurion, Second in command of a century

Centurion- Head of a centruy. Carried a vinewood stick as a sign of rank

Primus- Centurion in head of a Cohort (number of spear for cohort, ie, 3rd Spear)

Primus Pilus- Senior most centurion, head of the first cohort

Military Tribune- 10 in a legion. They were officers. Inducted into the Equestri class.

Preafectus- 3rd in command

Deputy Legius/General- 2nd in command

Legius- Commander of a legion

*The title of General was given to those in charge of multiple legions. In Remia there are 4 of these, one for each of the Directions on a compass.

Military Honors

Corona Aurea- Golden Laurel awarded for Soldier who held his ground in battle.

Corona Civica- Wreath of oak leaves awarded for saving a Remian citizen's life

Corona Graminea- Made of grass from site, Awarded for breaing an enemy seige

Corona Muralis- Golden wreath in form of a fortification, was awarded to first man over an enemy wall.

Spolia Opima- VERY RARE- For killing an enemy commander in single combat

System Notes

Players who choose to join the legion will be issued the following gear free of charge, but their baught gear remains at home. A level 1 charecter starts out with this equipment and 10 (GP).

Along with the armor and weaponry appropriate for his unit (Talk to Military lead), Each legion member has the following:

Cloak
Bathing and shaving kit
Weapon polishing kit
Repair kit (Needle and thread, spare leather cords, etc.)
Tin bowl
Coking Pot
Bag of food rations
Knapsack
Wineskin
Water Canteen
Fur boots (If in cold weather, ask Military lead if you have them)
Sandles
Forked 6' pole for carrying gear while marching.

Equipment used by a Contubernium of legionares, was carried on a pack mule issued to the unid head. Its items include:

Group Tent
Saws
Shovels
Pickaxes
Mattocks
a portable mill for grinding wheat
large wooden stakes for protecting camp sites
